Move HF from messaging toward imagery and richer command-and-control, in the same narrow channel, when nothing else is available.

Low emissions signature

Less transmit power and shorter time on air, a smaller emission window for units whose survival depends on staying unseen.

Battery & SWaP

Less required transmit power flows almost directly to battery life, a real win where the manpack and its batteries are carried on someone's back.

What it isn't

Not a new terminal. Not more spectrum. Not a rip-and-replace.

The usual way to get more out of HF is more spectrum and new hardware, a bigger footprint to detect and a procurement cycle to fund.

ASX loads onto the existing hardware already in the field, and gets its gain in the same bandwidth. It makes the incumbent radios better rather than asking anyone to replace them.
